Heritage Pointe serves older adults with compassion and respect. The United Methodist Memorial Home was established with a gift of money and land by William and Ruth Chopson, who requested the Church use the gift to found a debt-free retirement home. The Home was established in 1910 and has since provided care to over 4,000 residents. The United Methodist Memorial Home officially changed its name to Heritage Pointe in 2006 and continues to uphold the values and traditions of its founders.
Three generations of Souders have proudly carried on the tradition of compassion and respect at Heritage Pointe. The caring way began in 1937, with Dr. D.C. Souder (deceased), and was passed to Philip E. Souder (deceased), who, from 1964 to 1996 was a positive force and a visionary for Heritage Pointe and the Warren Community. Now the torch is passed to David P. Souder, Chief Executive Officer and Administrator, to continue to provide understanding care in a Christian atmosphere. |
